Engineering Engineering is the fine tuning to all else. It is the function that "turns the wrench" to all the budgets, projections, and analyses. Engineering is charged with the responsibility to make the physical components work economically and efficiently. Temperature ranges, security controls, lighting, electric, plumbing, equipment maintenance and, yes, picture hanging are all part of building engineering. Engineers are expected to make it all work correctly or to repair it expeditiously with the minimum of inconvenience. The responsibility to have all systems functioning during normal operating hours may require working all night or the entire weekend, but that is part of the territory and it is expected. Doing things efficiently, thoroughly and in a timely manner is the philosophy of Reliance Property Resources' engineering staff. Company engineers carry beepers and portable telephones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are serious about prompt response and keeping the occupants of buildings we manage happy. The qualifications of a good building engineer are simple: 1. Above average intelligence, 2. Mechanically inclined, 3. Sound schooling, and 4. A willingness to work hard. A good engineer can do as much or more for tenant relations as a building secretary or a property manager. If you have a capable building engineer with basic people skills, you are well on the way to having happy and satisfied building occupants. Engineering Scope
